di Mare Nominated for Miele Guide 2010/11

The Miele Guide has emerged as the definitive guide to culinary excellence in Asia – the Eastern counterpart to Europe’s Michelin guide. Characterised by a rigorous voting system that draws on both the general public and food experts from around the region, the guide is also incisive in its writing and description of the eateries included. Karma is proud to report that di Mare restaurant at Karma Kandara has been nominated by 76 of Asia’s most respected food journalists. It is now up to the public to cast their votes before the 19 May deadline. So if you’re a di Mare fan, be sure to log on and cast your vote at www.mieleguide.com

MAY IS ALL ABOUT MASTER MASSEUSES AND MASSAGES AT KARMA SPAS IN BALI

Whilst bowls of frangipanni flowers and scents of lemongrass can seduce, in the end its the quality of your massage that remains locked in our memory cells. Seek a deeply therapeutic massage whilst on your vacation? At the core of Karma Spa's philosophy is that it is our therapists healing touch that attract guests time after time. At our Jimbaran Resort for example, we are honored to introduce to you Alit who has been with Karma for five years now. Based pretty much permanently at Jimbaran (although he regularly gets called upon to Kandara for VIP guests), Alit is renowned for this strong yet healing touch and delivers an exceptional Karma Rubdown & Reflexology session as well as mens hydration facials. What's also new and exciting is that at Kandara, we are also proud to introduce you to our newest addition to our team, Suda, who is on board to deliver our first ever in-villa TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE. Suda is a senior therapist & trainer who has held esteemed positions at some of the best spas on the island including Mandara, Jari Menari and Conrad Bali. He is renowned for his artful approach in massaging the muscles and has developed his own style that is truly masterful. Needless to say, all of our spa therapists ‘bodyworker’s’ train under the guidance of certified sports massage therapists, chinese medical practitioners, reflexologists & healers to deliver deeply therapeutic experiences. They have received Level 1 Reiki training and are certified in 100% hygienic manicures and pedicures. Most ingredients used in karma spa treatments are pure and organic. www.karma-spas.com

The medicinal blends are results-orientated and include: After sun soother, awakening, calming, detox (jetlag/fluid retention), grounding, immune booster, meditation, muscle relaxer – sports recovery, nurturing and restful sleep/insomnia. We will have packages available for purchase as well for guests to take home. These blends arrive at our spas the first week of March.

KARMA BESPOKE MASSAGE Already in Bali, our top therapists are training with Bali’s best sports practitioner as part of our aim to deliver the unique KARMA BESPOKE MASSAGE – whereby guests can co-design their massage experience – focusing on the areas of their body that really need attention.
